About DiscoveryBridge

Introduction

DiscoveryBridge Fund was created to help connect students with educational opportunities they might otherwise miss. School trips, field courses, and learning visits can play an important role in a student’s education, but sometimes the cost can make participation difficult. DiscoveryBridge aims to help bridge that gap by allowing donors to support specific opportunities submitted by schools.

Why DiscoveryBridge Exists

Educational experiences beyond the classroom can have a lasting impact on a student’s confidence, curiosity, and learning. Visits to museums, science centres, historical sites, and fieldwork locations allow students to engage with subjects in a way that cannot always be replicated in the classroom.

DiscoveryBridge Fund aims to make these experiences more accessible by connecting schools with donors who are willing to support individual opportunities.

Who is Behind DiscoveryBridge?

DiscoveryBridge Fund is an independent initiative set up by William and  Clare Hartley, based in Whittlebury. It was created to help ensure that students are not excluded from valuable educational experiences due to financial constraints.

How the Initiative Works
  1. Schools submit opportunities for students who would otherwise miss educational trips or learning experiences.
  2. DiscoveryBridge reviews submissions and verifies key details where possible.
  3. Approved opportunities are listed on the website.
  4. Donors can choose specific opportunities to support.
  5. Schools manage the opportunity and may provide anonymous updates on the educational impact.
Principles of DiscoveryBridge
  • Focus on educational experiences beyond the classroom
  • Maintain student anonymity and privacy
  • Provide transparency around opportunities and donations
  • Keep the process simple for schools and donors
  • Support genuine opportunities that enhance learning
Looking Ahead

DiscoveryBridge Fund is currently a small initiative designed to test a simple idea: that connecting donors directly with specific educational opportunities can help more students access meaningful experiences. As the initiative develops, the aim is to continue improving transparency, safeguarding, and educational impact.
