For Schools

Introduction

DiscoveryBridge Fund allows schools to submit educational opportunities for students who may otherwise miss valuable learning experiences. Teachers, teaching assistants, and other school staff can submit anonymous opportunities for trips, field courses, and educational visits. Approved opportunities may then be listed on the platform for donors to support.

To submit an opportunity please complete the form at the bottom of this page.

How Submissions Work

A teacher, teaching assistant, or member of school staff submits an opportunity using the form below. DiscoveryBridge reviews the submission and verifies the opportunity where possible. Approved opportunities may be listed on the website for donors to support. Once funded, the school receives the donation to support the specified opportunity. After the activity takes place, the school is requested to provide a short anonymous update describing the educational impact.

Guidelines for Schools

Purpose of Funding
DiscoveryBridge is intended for exceptional, individual cases where a specific student would otherwise be unable to access a valuable educational opportunity, and where participation is likely to have a meaningful impact on their development or inclusion.

Scope of Applications

  • Submissions should relate to educational trips, field courses, or structured learning experiences.

  • Applications must be made for individual students only (not groups, classes, or cohorts).

  • Schools are expected to submit a limited number of high-quality, individual cases. To ensure fair access across schools, DiscoveryBridge operates a strict cap on the number of applications accepted per school within a given period, and will prioritise the most exceptional submissions. Schools should therefore carefully select and put forward only their strongest cases, rather than multiple applications for the same trip or group.

Expectation of Parental Contribution

  • DiscoveryBridge is designed to support, not replace, parental contribution.

  • It should be used where there is a clear financial barrier, not as an alternative funding route where parents are able but unwilling to contribute.

  • Schools should take reasonable steps to ensure that parental responsibility remains the primary source of funding wherever possible.

School Contribution & Validation

  • Schools are expected to support and validate each application, confirming that it represents a genuine need.

  • Where possible, schools should contribute towards the cost. Applications with school contribution are more likely to be approved.

  • Submissions should clearly explain why this case is exceptional.

Safeguarding and Privacy

DiscoveryBridge Fund does not collect or publish student names. Students are identified only through reference codes and schools retain full safeguarding responsibility. Any images used on the website are illustrative and are not linked to specific students.

Teachers, teaching assistants, and school staff can submit anonymous opportunities to help students attend educational trips and learning experiences. Students remain anonymous and schools manage safeguarding.
